Acrylics Course in Landscape Painting

Three-week course

Thursday 5th, 12th and 26th October

Wednesday Mornings from 10.30 am  until 1 pm

The course can be paid for through two methods

full Course Fee of €80

This course is suitable for beginners and intermediate students and is run in a relaxed guided manner where each student can develop at their own pace.

The course is run on Wednesday mornings over three weeks, on November 8th, 15th and 22nd

This course will look at different aspects of landscape painting and is a continuation of the previous classes. 

While it will look at the same aspects of painting and sketching there will be new knowledge offered each day and a development of new skills throughout the course so that students can add new skills to their artistic skills -set.

Students will be able to complete several sketches relating to aspects of the scene that will be painted during the course and one completed painting.

Each day will consist of sketching and preparation of materials for painting

Creating a colour wheel for reference.

Planing and mapping your picture using different measurement and grid techniques.

Sketching in a variety of mediums, and with paint washes.

How to choose a good composition.

How to interpret a scene in your own artistic style.

Detailed painting techniques.

 

Materials list

Some paint and brushes will be available in class but it is important that you have your own boards, canvas, or pad to paint on.

Essential: An acrylic pad, canvas not paper (A3 size is good to give you some scope for different size pictures or some canvases or canvas boards 

Some paper for Sketching and a pencil (2B,4B)

BIO

Fiona Ní Ghliasáin is a Professional Artist and Photographer. Her Artwork is in private & public collections around the world. Her work is mainly nature-based. This love of nature comes from a youth spent in the Wicklow countryside and her work with animals.

Fiona is a Merrion Square Artist, A professional member of the VAI., The Made Local Campaign and recently she published her first book on Nature, in English and Irish, for Children.

Fiona studied in Crawford College of Art and Design, and Grennan Mill and has First Class Honors in Fine Art and Craft Design. She holds a J.E.B. Teaching Diploma in I.T. Fiona has completed The TAP+ Training for teaching in primary schools, has T.E.F.L. Accreditation in teaching English as a foreign language, and has done teacher training with Yoga Therapy Ireland and Philosophy.

Fiona Teaches Fine Art (Acrylic, Soft Pastel, Watercolour), Photography and Design, Glass and Tile Painting, Indian and Alcohol inks, Acrylic Pouring, Mixed Media, Card Making, and Meditation.
